Standards for Civiciti Profiles
19 JULY 2016
A. The profile of a brand, entity (place or organization) or public figure (“official website”) may only be administered by the authorized representative of that mark, entity or public figure.
B. Any user can create a profile to express support for or interest in a brand, entity (place or organization) or public figure, provided this cannot be confused with an official profile or infringe the rights of others. If your profile is not the official profile of a brand, entity (place or organization) or public figure, you must:
(i) Make sure not to communicate any message or post any content on behalf of the authorized representative of the matter of the corresponding profile.
(ii) Make clear that the profile is not the official profile of the brand, entity (place or organization) or public figure.
C. Take into account that the content posted on a profile is public and anyone who visits it can see it.
D. Restrict access to the profiles (through our privacy features) as needed to comply with the relevant laws and policies of OpenSeneca, including our Community rules.
II. Managing profiles
A. OpenSeneca Profile names and web addresses
OpenSeneca Profile names and web addresses should accurately reflect the content of the page. We can remove your administrative rights or ask you to change the OpenSeneca name and web address of the mentioned profile if it does not meet this requirement.
(i) They must not consist solely of generic terms (e.g., “beer” or “pizza”).
(ii) They should make use of appropriate and grammatically correct capitalization; only acronyms can be completely written in capital letters.
(iii) They must not include symbols such as excessive punctuation and trademark indicators.
(iv) They must not include superfluous descriptions or unnecessary epithets.
(v) They must not confuse people making them believe that it is the official website of the subject of that page, or that it has the approval of an authorized representative of the subject of that page.
(vi) They must not violate anyone’s rights.
B. Data Collection
If you collect content and information directly from users, you will point out expressly that it is you (and not OpenSeneca) who collects such data, informing users correspondingly; you need their express consent to use the content and information collected. Regardless of how you obtain the consent and user information, it will be your responsibility to get all the necessary permissions to reuse their content and information. You will not collect content or user information, or access OpenSeneca in any other way, using automated means (such as harvesting bots, robots, spiders, or scrapers) without our permission. Any data you get from us must meet our standards for Developers.
You must not incorrectly label content or encourage users to do so (for example, do not encourage people to be tagged in photos where they do not appear).
III. Profile Functions
A. Advertising profiles
Third-party advertising on OpenSeneca profiles is not permitted without our prior consent.
B. Cover page
All cover pages are public, which means that anyone visiting your profile will see your cover page. The cover pages must not be misleading or infringe the copyright of others. You must not encourage people to upload your cover page to their personal biographies.
C. Profile Applications
Applications that are included in the profiles must comply with the Standards for Developers
